I feel this notebook fits the bill for anyone looking for a lightweight and portable notebook computer. Thanks for the answer CNET may get a commission from these offers. I would have preferred all silver rather than the two tones, but the look seems to work for this model. Apparently, there is no driver attached to my webcam

The problem overall seems to be that unless you view the screen from slightly ABOVE you will get this effect. HP dv specs as reviewed customized and purchased through HP. Video Memory Memory Allocation Technology.

Not many complaints here. I did some basic Photoshop work and it handled the task with ease. Overall, the unit seems to have very low noise and heat levels during normal operation. The keyboard on the DV is overall very quiet.

I opted for the standard 6 cell battery. Once I started examining DVD movies and photographic images I canera that the DV exhibits some very annoying viewing angle behavior.

A few words of thanks would be greatly appreciated. Have you tried installing and launching Cheese in Ubuntu just to test the webcam? Speakers and Audio The DV has excellent speakers when compared to most notebooks on the market.

I have spent countless hours searching for and installing linux drivers, but no luck.
